Project Executive

ResourceTek specializes in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Construction, Information Technology, and a broad range of other technical disciplines. In support of our client, a regional general contractor, we are searching for a Project Executive to join their team located near Nashville, TN. This is a direct hire opportunity with the client.

The Project Executive will lead and oversee large-scale commercial construction projects across the greater Nashville area, with a focus on complex civic and justice facilities. This role is responsible for business development, driving project success from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and financial performance. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep knowledge of public-sector construction, and a proven ability to manage multiple high-value projects while mentoring project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level oversight for multiple large-scale commercial construction projects, including justice and civic buildings 
  • Lead project teams (Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff) to ensure successful delivery of scope, schedule, and budget 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, stakeholders, and public agencies 
  • Drive preconstruction efforts, including budgeting, value engineering, and risk assessment 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, particularly for government and justice-related facilities 
  • Monitor financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability 
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving challenges 
  • Support business development efforts, including client relationships, proposals, and interviews 
  • Mentor and develop internal talent, fostering a high-performance culture 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role 
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects (e.g., courthouses, detention centers, municipal buildings, multi-family, hospitality or similar civic infrastructure) 
  • Strong understanding of public procurement processes, contracts, and compliance requirements 
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams 
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills 
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and forecasts 
  • Experience working with local and state government agencies 
  • Familiarity with justice facility design and construction requirements (security systems, specialized infrastructure, etc.) 
  • Experience with Design-Build, or Design-Bid-Build delivery methods
