Maintenance Technician - TPM Equipment

JOB SUMMARY
Works closely with Maintenance Project Manager to maintain working operation of the Material Handling Systems, Inspect, repair, and modify material handling transport dollies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair active problems with the Material Handling Systems as required to achieve customer production and required up time. Requires extensive knowledge of all technical aspects of Heavy Load Transport Dolly Systems including the ability to diagnose controls problems, repairs, inspections and modifications. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, repairs or special builds as scheduled and report results
  • Verifies proper machine operation after preventative maintenance procedures have been completed
  • Verifies all peripheral equipment is in place, functional and safe to operate
  • Work with team members daily on preventative maintenance activities. Be willing to provide assistance to other team members as requested by the Maintenance Project Manager
  • May interface directly with customer or customer technical personnel to identify and implement repair actions on non-working equipment
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fabricating builds or repairs
  • Operation hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and forklifts, to position parts or equipment during fabrication, PM’s or repairs
  • Adjust, repair or replace defective parts
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on material transport dollies
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand, power tools and welding equipment
  • Research and specify repairs from manuals or computer sources
  • Establish / Maintain 5s standards within destined area
  • All maintenance services will be administered on-site
  • Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities with production
  • Train and teach others – identify the professional educational needs of team members, develop formal educational or training programs or classes, and teach or instruct others
  • Audit, revise, and improve PM activities on process equipment using CMMS
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize work – developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates – provide information to supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email or in person
  • Responsible for TPM/CIP/AGV technician’s maintenance schedule depending on business need

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge in welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics and equipment problem solving and improvement capability
  • Technical knowledge of equipment attributes and processes, root cause problem solving
  • Communicate effectively with written and oral communication skills
  • Interact positively with co-workers, team, and supervision
  • Required to routinely wear personal protection equipment such as safety shoes, safety vest, safety glasses, and gloves, etc.
  • Ability to perform daily activities including walking, standing, reaching, twisting, stooping, grasping and working around ear noisy equipment

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
