Meet Zach Flynn – one of our many dedicated employees at ResourceTek! Zach is a talented Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technician and BIM Specialist with expertise in architectural and engineering design.
Zach’s Role at the Company
An employee since 2019, Zach specializes in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Support. Zach works at a leading automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) located in Vance, AL, working on the Factory Planning Team. Zach’s role has a lot of diversity; on any given day, he may be creating layouts, drawings, and models for projects. Often, Zach has supported the work of expansions and new buildings. Zach’s CAD expertise contributes to the company’s project planning and execution.
Professional Journey and Growth
Zach earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Manufacturing Design and Automation in 2016, thereafter working as a Product Engineer. Though he felt comfortable in his career, Zach was ready for more of a challenge. He found a job posting in the CAD field with ResourceTek, and was pleased to see that he had been invited for an interview. Zach’s experience and strong work ethic made him stand out, and soon he and his family were celebrating the new job offer. Working at ResourceTek gave Zach more family-life balance, as he was able to enjoy a significantly reduced commute.
Transforming Ideas to Reality
What Zach enjoys the most about his job is the opportunity to witness projects transform from ideas to reality. He finds fulfillment in making contributions to the planning and integration of major projects, despite the challenges that come with each project.
Zach is grateful to have a work-life balance as he and his wife raise their first son, who was born in 2023. He finds that his CAD skills are appreciated at home as much as they are at work; Zach loves to create furniture for his son’s nursery and tackle other challenging projects around the house.
