Maintenance "Technical" Manager

Reporting to the Plant Manager the Maintenance “Technical” Manager will lead and continually develop a team responsible for achievement of business needs and operational requirements at ResourceTek's Client manufacturing facility in Dayton, Tennessee.  He/She will ensure the continued service of all building systems and support the continued operation and development of all production equipment.  This is a direct hire opportunity which includes our client's full benefits and performance based bonus programs.


Responsibilities
•    Oversight and leadership of location’s preventative maintenance and measurement maintenance programs.
•    Effective team leadership (team consisting of Maintenance, Electrical, Facility, and Automation Engineers).
•    Management of vendors and contractors to ensure compliance to contract and quality standards.
•    Work in collaboration with operations departments to optimize production equipment functionality, complete new projects, and develop equipment / systems upgrades.
•    Provide technical support for design and installation of equipment modifications/additions.
•    Ensure energy-efficiency of facility through effective purchasing and utilization of resources.
•    Analyze maintenance problems and design solutions to improve plant production, reduce downtime and/or prevent repeat failures
•    Support and drive process improvements with Production and Quality
•    Oversee and develop best practices for the Engineering Department
•    Ensure spare parts system is in place to support continual operation of the factory
•    Model and promote responsibility towards environmental, health and safety practices and ensure full department buy-in
•    Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to facility systems and equipment.
•    Manage the maintenance department budget, including annual planning and forecasting activities.
•    Uphold Nokian mission and values, and demonstrate supporting behaviors in day-to-day actions.
•    Other duties as assigned.


Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field required
•    Master’s degree in aforementioned fields or MBA preferred
•    10 years work related experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years of budget management and team leadership responsibility.  
•    Experience developing and applying lean manufacturing concepts
•    Experience in tire manufacturing industry preferred
•    Ability to read and interpret general mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
•    Knowledge of preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance systems.
•    Demonstrated project and financial management skills.
•    Demonstrated analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills.
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to motivate teams and work collaboratively with internal customers and external suppliers.
•    Proficient with MS-Office application suite.
•    Capable of developing a systematic approach to running the Engineering department
•    Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder).
