In support of our manufacturing clients, we are searching for a contract Mechanical Designer with Inventor 3D experience to join their team located in Lavergne TN. This is a long term multi-year contract opportunity of indefinite duration.
Job Description:
- In this role, the selected candidates will provide 3D CAD support for the engineering department in a manufacturing facility.
- Design and create mechanical drawings for modifications utilizing Autodesk Inventor (3D), that take maintenance functions, machine functions and reliability, operator interactions, and manufacturability into consideration
- Design and create drawings for fixed guarding, safety fencing, safety sensor brackets, obsolete motors, gearboxes, power transmission components and mounting plates, obsolete pneumatic cylinders and associated accessories/mounting plates, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
- Candidates will complete drawing tasks within scope, budget and schedule and provide design assistance to other Designers and Engineers as needed.
- Will utilize Inventor to create 3D models from 2D drawings and field reverse designs and complete modeled details for manufacturing.
- The select candidate should have experience with heavy industry, machine layout, and MEP in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read assembly/details and provide design studies and CAD data checks required.
- Field measurements and existing part verification will be required.
Required Skills:
- Machine Design experience, Automation Equipment Familiarity
- Intermediate to advanced 3D Inventor experience
- Autodesk Vault or similar software experience a plus
- Familiarity and understanding of Mechanical / Pneumatic Schematics
- Maintain plant layout and updates
- Maintain library and wide format plotter/scanner
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, including both written and verbal communications.
