Inspection Systems Engineer

In partnership with our client, a global leader in metals manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced Inspection Systems Engineer to support our client’s Mobile, AL advanced steel finishing facility. This is a direct hire opportunity.



The ideal candidate will ensure and optimize camera inspection system availability in collaboration with stakeholders, advancing system capabilities and modification of defect library/classifiers to support the business goals.



  • Troubleshoots and replaces hardware, as needed
  • Performs daily system tuning & preventive maintenance
  • Works closely with respective Quality group on defect/material changes and adjustments
  • Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Fulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Material or Information Systems focus preferred, or a combination of post-secondary education and directly related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with camera Inspection system administration or steel/steel-related experience in quality processes
  • Must have a solid understanding of PC hardware, software, and other equipment used in this very specific environment, including replacement of parts, software installations, and the tools required to perform maintenance or repair
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
  • General understanding of hardware & software/Windows OS, including interactions and integrations of firmware with hardware
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL
  • Solid understand of Parsytec equipment used in steel processing preferred
  • Knowledge of steel process, surface defects, and defect origin preferred
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Makes sense of complex, high quality, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism
