Maintenance Engineer – Plant Maintenance
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer has the overall responsibility for asset care, monitoring and improving reliability and performance of plant production machineries and support equipment.  This is a direct hire opprotunity with ResourceTek's client, who's manufacturing facility is located in the southern portion of East Tennessee.

 •    Develops preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with the production department, schedules repair maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous manufacturing operations
•    Principle contact and liaison between the maintenance department and production control and production planning
•    Ensure the area, department or facility in which they are assigned receives maintenance service in a timely manner to ensure equipment availability and performance  
•    Interact with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create work packages for implementation in the field
•    Review all planned work request from assigned area and determine validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority
•    Reviews work request for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper authorization, and discuss details with originator of the work order
•    Review and analyze delays in schedule, expedite any work activities requiring work packages that delay schedules, and coordinate schedule changes needed to encompass unforeseen conditions  
•    Ensure operations and maintenance work orders are in compliance with project procedures, assist in the determination of work priority, and establish workflow processes that support work management and operations goals  
•    Periodically review work performed for attainment or obtainment of objectives, policy compliance and priorities, effective coordination, technical adequacy and responsiveness to established guidelines
•    Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work  
•    Manage predictive maintenance program including Thermal Scanning, Ultrasonic, Tribology and Vibration monitoring to ensure compliance to established standards  
•    Manage lubrication program to assure equipment is properly lubricated to prolong bearing life
•    Hands-on facilitation of RCCA events (root cause corrective action)
•    Review engineering specs and design modifications to process equipment for reliability capability
•    Supervise, monitor, develop staff performance, training, and cross training
•    Ensures a work environment that is team oriented, supportive, respectful, and accountable
•    Ensures all work by skilled personnel is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards
•    Prioritizes maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements to ensure minimal machine down time
•    Develops and implements schedules and procedures for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance programs
•    Identifies and coordinates the resolution of issues related to programs or processes
•    Identifies failure points in equipment and designs preventative maintenance procedure for each piece of equipment
•    Provide direction and guidance to teammates in regard to mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and projects
•    Works with vendors to source external services for mechanical, tooling and facilities related issues
•     Works with vendors to source parts, assists with maintaining spare parts inventory and accuracy
•    Monitors PM data to identify repeat maintenance issues to increase machine reliability and uptime
•    Promotes knowledge and implementation of 6S, SMED, and other lean/six sigma/continuous improvement tools

•     Participates in and provides training as required
•    Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan
•    Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained
•    Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001
•    Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean
•    Will lead and analyze reliability studies for all manufacturing equipment and machines
•    Will lead and implement TPM activities at the plant
•    May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
•    Provides guidance, direction and training to personnel in respective areas as needed
•    All other duties assigned  
•    Must be able to communicate effectively at various levels of the organization
•    Demonstrated ability to work on complex issues and to develop resolutions via in-depth evaluation of factors and/or frequent use of creativity
•    Data driven and analytic with technical ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
•    Statistical aptitude
•    Experience introducing reliability/process improvements
•    Experience identifying maintenance expenditures, downtime, etc. and analyzing data to recommend areas of improvement
•    Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals in team based environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    BS in Engineering or related field or 5 years equivalent experience in maintenance environment
•    Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in mechanical maintenance
•    Lean manufacturing knowledge/certification a plus
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
•    Experience with CMMS software (Maximo, MP2, SAP, etc.)
•    Project management experience
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  This position will not offer relocation or visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements and Demands
•    Exposure to occasionally loud noise levels
•    Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment mechanical equipment and vibration
•    This position will be required to work at multiple work stations
•    Must be able to tolerate odor from raw materials, freshly cured tires and hot materials
•    Ability to work in environment with limited climate control and varied temperature levels  
•    Must be able to communicate effectively in an environment with continual noise, requiring the ability to hear, understand and communicate work instructions and directions while wearing company provided hearing protection
•    Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment mechanical equipment and vibration
