Research Analyst

In support of our client, a leading provider of network software and hardware-based solutions, we are seeking a Research Analyst to join our team. This is a remote, long-term, contract-to-hire opportunity.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Research Analyst will carry out research, tracking, and maintenance of existing and emerging broadband-related topics with the goal of delivering up-to-date technical documentation at the direction of sales and business development personnel.

 

The right candidate will provide sales and business development support activities including researching industry and competitor programs to identify opportunities for improvement for company’s formal activities and programs.

 

This position requires the ability to integrate multiple sources of detailed information (sources may include local, state, federal governmental broadband programs, and internal product management, marketing, and legal departments).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Research and monitor emerging government broadband grant/loan opportunities and awards.
  • Track federal and state broadband grant/loan programs.
  • Research and review local (county and municipal) broadband grant/loan programs
  • Maintain Company’s databases with up-to-date broadband infrastructure funding information.
  • Act as the central resource to coordinate funding opportunities uncovered by regional and national field personnel.
  • Develop and keep current summaries of specific broadband infrastructure funding opportunities, sharing with key sales teams in a timely manner.
  • Produce a weekly high-level executive summary of broadband infrastructure grant/loan activities (availability, awards, partnerships, etc.).
  • Prepare periodic presentations on broadband infrastructure grant/loan activities.
  • Research, monitor, and report on competitor activities related to the following:
    • Broadband funding assistance, education, webinars, etc.
    • Partnerships with other industry firms
    • Tradeshows and expos
  • Other projects and assignments may be assigned to accommodate the evolving nature of the broadband industry and the Company.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a research-oriented field or additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the company, including executives.
  • Excellent project, time, and workload management skills as well as the ability to prioritize in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in a wide range of current policies, practices, and trends as it relates to broadband and the ability to grasp new technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and SharePoint.
  • Basic data analysis and manipulation using Excel and other data tools.
  • Little to no travel is expected in this position.
  • Programming experience preferred.
