Helpdesk Support Specialist

Our client, a leader in manufacturing, is seeking a Helpdesk Support Specialist to join their team in Koppel, PA.This position is a long-term, full-time assignment with ResourceTek.

In this role, you will be providing support to the team responsible for maintaining the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. You will be responsible for the administration and internal support of the Company’s PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end-user support, license tracking, PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.

Responsibilities include :

  • Assign deployment tickets to specific individuals based on priority/site/etc after the procurement team has created the tickets
  • Organize, coordinate and input the data used to resolve the helpdesk tickets where applicable
  • Perform weekly inventory checks and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain inventory integrity
  • Manage technical refresh tickets for the team and update the master spreadsheet to show completed items
  • Provide hardware and software support for desktop operating systems and servers relating to desktop infrastructure
  • Utilizing desktop publishing equipment and integrated software packages
  • Provide the highest level of desktop support escalation
  • Deploy laptop/desktop computers to end users
  • Operate desktop publishing equipment and software packages to perform complex assignments
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
  • Manage user and desktop system policies for desktop systems, network security, and approved resource usage
  • Maintain & implement the centralized desktop software distribution and asset tracking
  • Work in a team-based environment around desktop publishing
  • Provide technical support to internal or external networked/ desktop systems
  • Work with vendors or other technical resources to troubleshoot desktop support issues
  • Maintain, and improve standard processes in desktop management
  • Provide support for core software applications
  • Provide Tier 2 desktop support to internal users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems
  • Support the development and maintenance of desktop and laptop images
  • Operate a variety of computer peripheral equipment including desktop and laptop computers as well as associated software
  • Contain desktop systems, network incidents, and emergency repairs
