Team Member Labor Relations Specialist

In partnership with our client, a leader in the OEM automotive industry, ResourceTek is seeking Team Member Labor Relations Specialists to join their team near Huntsville, AL. This is a direct hire opportunity.



Responsible for maintaining positive team member relations (TMR) and building mutual trust and respect between the company and its team members.



  • Establish and foster strong team member relations at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Work closely with advisors from company
  • Support the Human Resource Department’s Floor Management System objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Meet with team members to ensure overall job satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain sensing tools for real-time understanding of morale conditions throughout the plant
  • Develop and maintain all company policies for exempt and non-exempt job classifications
  • Lead conflict resolution activities including investigating complaints, policy violations, safety violations, etc.
  • Serve as team member and company advocate
  • Ensure team member adherence to policy and recommend appropriate corrective action to their leadership when needed
  • Investigate and respond to hotline calls and concern resolutions
  • Counsel group leaders and team members
  • Problem-solve issues and address allegations of policy violations
  • Support and communicate team member viewpoints
  • Build relationships with team members
  • Support and communicate Company viewpoints
  • Promote continuous improvement and team member engagement
  • Partner with section management and understand section operations
  • Build relationships and support section leadership and team members, including morale sensing
  • Develop management staff to ensure best positive leadership practices
  • Follow standardized investigation practices when conducting investigations 
  • Ensure timeliness of project management in alignment with established KPI’s
  • Ensure consistent policy implementation
  • Offer problem resolution assistance
  • (Internally) Individual will interface with managers, specialists, group leaders, team leaders, and team members, cross-functionally as needed, to foster positive and clear channels of communication
  • (Externally) Individual will participate in customer audits and visits as requested
  • Will be held accountable for achieving defined individual and continuous improvement objectives related to Team Member Relations and employment law
  • To strictly adhere to company safety and other policies as documented
  • To recommend actions and make decisions on all issues relating to Team Member Relations programs and employment concerns for company, with input from the TMR Assistant Manager and other management team members as appropriate
  • All employees have a quality and safety responsibility; therefore, having the authority to stop work processes to correct quality and/or safety problems



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent work experience (3-5 years)
  • Experience in a role using conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain highly confidential information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing plant
  • HR Team Member Relations/Employee Relations experience
  • Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
