Electrical/Controller Area Network (CAN) Engineer

 

Experienced Electrical Engineer for a long-term assignment working in an operating manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment where they design products, then follow them start-to-finish through the development cycle (design, detailing, prototype build, testing, mass-production ramp-up).

 

Responsibilities/Skills

• Electrical system design and component specification typical of heavy mobile equipment

• Specification of networked I/O controllers, sensors, and human-machine interfaces

• Create 3D solid models (Pro Engineer Creo)

• Create 2D drawings (Pro Engineer Creo Schematics, AutoCAD)

• Prototype assembly & documentation

• Supplier component evaluation

• Design and perform tests on new systems and components

• Product support (Customer Service and Manufacturing)

 

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering

• 10+ years’ Electrical Engineering experience

• Experience managing people

• Ability to self-direct in fast-paced environment but still complete tasks and projects

• Well organized, detail oriented, results driven

Experience in these areas not required but considered a plus:

    • Heavy mobile equipment industry
    • CAN networks
    • Programming (Power Vision Studio)
    • Project Management
