In partnership with our client, a global leader in metals manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to support industrial capital projects at our client’s Mobile, AL manufacturing facility. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.
The selected candidate will develop reliability programs for predictive and preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and FMEA for a facility with a primary focus on steel making. Experience includes Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Metallurgy Furnace, Vacuum Tank Degassing, Caster, Bag House, and associated support equipment. This position will also assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting equipment failures to reduce downtime.
Failure Analysis - Perform root cause analysis on major equipment failures; Perform countermeasures and track effectiveness; Conduct FMEA on all critical equipment.
Maintenance Engineering - Assist maintenance personnel with equipment standards, material specs, manufacturer communications, and troubleshooting; Oversee and assist with rotating equipment designs and installations; Prepare and implement small capital projects.
Reliability Programs - Establish equipment MTBF and develop improvement projects; Develop and monitor operation and maintenance procedures for critical equipment; Monitor non-operating time on critical equipment and develop programs for improvement.
Predictive and Preventive Maintenance - Develop and monitor predictive tools and maintenance; Analyze results of inspections and completed work and make recommendations; Review equipment PMs for completeness and assure scheduling priority; Assemble cross-functional reliability maintenance teams to review equipment problems.
The desired candidate will have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience in maintenance and reliability of industrial equipment with preference given to those with steel making or melt shop experience.
